Ben Frost

Composer Ben Frost produces his work internationally in a myriad of forms including Gallery-based installations, scores commissioned for Film, Contemporary Dance and Large-Scale Multimedia productions. He has already released several widely-acclaimed albums including his most recent LP Theory of Machines on the Icelandic Bedroom Community Label which has been called "...The future of electronic music" and for which Frost himself has been marked "...One of the most interesting and groundbreaking producers in the world today". He has performed throughout Europe during 2006/2007 touring an as yet unreleased new work- 'Music For 6 Guitars' and he collaborates extensively in the studio producing work with/for The Icelandic Dance Company, Björk, Choreographer Erna Ómarsdottír and New York Composer Nico Muhly.

Australian born, but a resident of Reykjavík Iceland since 2004, Frost operates primarily from Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavík with Icelandic Producer Valgeir Sigurðsson where he fully exploits the sonic resources of this unique environment with collaborators such as Valgeir, and Sigtryggur Baldursson (The Sugarcubes).

“Simply awesome... Frost reminds us that minimalism was never just the polished sheen of Reich and Glass, but also the sweat and grime of Michael Gira's Swans... A deeper, darker minimalism- menacing and claustrophobic... This is Arvo Pärt as arranged by Trent Reznor...” - Wire Magazine
